چکیده

Detailed studies of the temperature dependence of the spontaneous magnetization have been made in eight different compositions of g-Ni1002x2yFexVy ~412 at. %) alloys require an additional Stoner T term ~for weak itinerant ferromagnets!. This indicates that the addition of more V gives the alloys a weak itinerant electron character. The range of temperature of the above analysis is much lower than 0.1TC for most of the alloys. Also, the Arrott plots near TC show a set of almost parallel isothermal lines supporting the presence of the Stoner term. Thus the present magnetization studies show convincingly a transition from the localized to the weak itinerant electron ferromagnetism in the high V (y>12 at. %) alloys.

Influence of the magnetic state on the chemical order-disorder transition temperature in Fe-Ni permalloy.

In magnetic alloys, the effect of finite temperature magnetic excitations on phase stability below the Curie temperature is poorly investigated, although many systems undergo phase transitions in this temperature range. We consider random Ni-rich Fe-Ni alloys, which undergo chemical order-disorder transition approximately 100 K below their Curie temperature, to demonstrate from ab initio calcul...

Confirming the Composition of Shape Memory Alloys by Microstructural Characterization

It is well known that the properties of shape memory alloys, such as binary Ni-Ti (nitinol), are very sensitive to composition.[1-3] Especially on the Ni-rich side of stoichiometry, the martensite/austenite phase transformation temperature decreases abruptly when Ni is increased only a few tenths of a weight percent.[4] In ternary high temperature shape memory alloys (HTSMAs) containing Pt, Pd,...

Interactions and phase stability in Ni-rich binary alloys

Ni-based superalloys are the important materials for gas turbines in advanced aeroplane engines . The addition of refractory elements to these superalloys, such as rhenium and tungsten, can significantly improve the hightemperature performance by so-called solid-solution hardening. Although the strengthening effect of refractory elements in Ni-based superalloys have been known for a long time, ...

RELAXATION STUDIES OF THE REMANENT MAGNETIZATION IN THE SPIN GLASS LIKE STATE OF AMORPHOUS Fe90 ( ZrxScy)10 ALLOYS

Field cooled (FC) and zero field cooled (ZFC) magnetization measurements have been performed on amorphous Fego ( Z ~ , S C ~ ) , ~ ( x = 100,80,60,50,20,0 at% ) alloys. The time dependence of the thermoremanent magnetization has been studied up to 5 x lo5 s with a SQUID-magnetometer. Depending on the ratio of the Zr and Sc concentration different relaxation behavior in the low temperature SG-ph...

High pressure magnetic behaviour of amorphous YxNi1-x alloys

High pressure magnetization and Curie temperature measurements have been performed on several amorphous Y,Ni,-, alloys. The results seem to indicate that ferromagnetism disappears in a rather inhomogeneous way.
